Engineering Excellence: 24/7 Concrete Now Offering Custom Volumetric Auger Fabrication

What began as an in-house maintenance project has quickly evolved into an exciting new service offering for volumetric operators across the UK. At 24/7 Concrete, we’re proud to announce the successful design, fabrication, and installation of custom augers for our fleet of volumetric concrete mixers, developed entirely by our in-house fabrication team.

Initially undertaken to improve performance and extend the life of our own equipment, the project proved so successful that we are now offering this bespoke service to other companies within the volumetric industry.

Why It Matters

Augers are the backbone of any volumetric mixer, ensuring consistent blending and flow of materials during pours. Over time, standard augers wear down; reducing accuracy, slowing performance, and ultimately risking costly breakdowns or uneven mixes.

Rather than relying on expensive and inflexible off-the-shelf replacements, we took matters into our own hands, literally! Our fabrication division developed a streamlined process to create brand-new augers, specifically tailored to our equipment and operational needs.

Our Process

Here’s how our expert team delivers a fully fabricated and installed auger system; typically within just 7 to 10 working days:

  • Precise Measurement: Each auger is reverse-engineered from the original through detailed measurement.
  • Planning & Design: From these specs, our team creates a custom diagram and builds precise templates to ensure a perfect fit.
  • Fabrication: High-strength steel components are cut, expertly welded, and assembled in-house.
  • Finishing Touches: The frame is then powder coated for durability and corrosion resistance.
  • Installation: The old auger is removed, and the new one is installed, along with fresh bearings and a new bottom boot.
  • Integration: We reconnect the system to your existing hoses and motor; keeping things simple, efficient, and cost-effective.

Whether it’s an improvement, a repair, or a full replacement, our team can handle the entire process from start to finish.
